Memory lane

Well, after seeing my friend with all of her old girlfriends from high school, got me thinking of mine. How much I miss them
I was looking through some old high school papers I have kept. Do you remember those little riddles, or little poems or sayings that you would always read on the bathroom walls, or write on your text books somewhere? I never realized just how cruel some of them are!!! I guess our sense of humor changes with age too..... Some I found just funny.... But one story caught my eye. I remember one friend of mine making me read this, it made me smile back then, even though I really didn't understand it, cause I'm reading it now, and it made me cry because I do understand now.
After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
You learn that love doesn't mean leaning and company doesn't mean security,
You began to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises,
You began to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes open,
with the grace of an adult not the grief of a child,
You learn to build all your own roads on today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain,
After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much,
So plant your own garden and decorate your own soul,
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers,
You learn that you really can endure...
that you really are strong,
you really do have worth.
Thanks Moo
Lub's ya still lol.
